The Pleasantville Music Festival--Saturday July 11, 2009

Music is in the air, again, at

41° 8′ 11.08″ N, 73° 47′ 15.08″

where it is always Pleasant (ville).

On Saturday July 11, 2009 the PEAK presents the 5th Annual Pleasantville Music Festival. This signal event of summer in Westchester brings together over 5,000 people to enjoy a day of music, food and fun. Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Hill Country Revue, and Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam lead this years’ mix of world class talent from the Hudson Valley and beyond. More than twenty acts will perform on 3 stages including The Dream Jam Band, an award winning band for kids. Gates open at 11:00 AM and the music will move you until 8:50 PM.
The open air seating arrangement with shade tents dotting the grounds make for a relaxed atmosphere that has attracted international stars such as Roger McGuinn, Joan Osborne, World Party, and Graham Parker as well as a wealth of local talent.

Tickets can be purchased at the two festival entrances on the
day of the festival, or until the close of business Friday, July 10th,
at the retailers listed here.

Credit cards will only be accepted at the Village Lane festival entrance.
Cash and checks will be accepted at both the
Village Lane and Hopper Street entrances.

InTown Magazine has recognized Pleasantville as one of Westchester’s most Family Friendly villages and that spirit is exemplified at the Festival. There is an expansive Fun Area with games, amusements, crafts, and music especially for kids.

Over 40 vendors offer fresh food, from pizza to smoked barbeque, Asian delicacies, Greek delights, hot dogs, ice cream, smoothies, coffees, teas and much more. Crafters show their skills and charitable organizations provide information about their causes; Festival-goers (21 and over) can sample our locally crafted Captain Lawrence beer and imbibe the fruits of Pleasantville’s Prospero winery in Mc Arthur’s Garden.

WXPK (Radio 107.1 THE PEAK) -- providing world class rock for New York’s backyard -- is once again the festival sponsor. The station’s on-air personalities will keep things lively on the main stage and broadcast from Parkway Field.

The Pleasantville Music Festival is ADA accessible. There is no public parking at the Festival. We provide free parking at Pace University and a free bus will bring you to and from the Village and Parkway Field. A free shuttle will also pick-up and return patrons from the conveniently located Metro-North station throughout the day up until a half hour after the end of the show. Coolers are permitted but are subject to inspection. Sorry, no dogs allowed on the festival site unless they are documented service animals.

Featured Charity

The Ronald McDonald House located at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center provides a home-away-from-home for families whose children are hospitalized there. These families find the comforts of home and peace in the knowledge that they are just moments away from their seriously ill or injured children.
We Need your Help—Now More than Ever

The facility was destroyed when a pipe burst in the ceiling on January 3, 2008. The families were evacuated, with no place to go. Since then, the RMH has been working with the hospital to rebuild—and bring families back to—the home-away-from-home they so desperately need when their children need them most. If you can help, please contact Marielena DiMatteo at 914-493-6455 or at mdimatteo@ronaldmcdonaldhouseny.org.
