it's gonna be a hot one

Let's keep you going strong all day long with these tips to stay cool, healthy, and comfortable.

  • Water. Bring your refillable water bottle. We have free water stations throughout the field. You keep drinking it. We'll keep filling it.

  • Sunscreen. Apply. Reapply. Reapply again, especially if you feel like you're sweating it off. Folks go barefoot around the Festival—don't forget your feet. Tell your friends if they start looking red, and ask them how you're looking. Think about lip balm, too.

  • Hat. Sun can make its way through your hair, so wear a cap. And think about covering your neck.

  • Sunglasses. Eyes can get sunburned, too. Have good UV protection at the ready.

  • Sun shirt. The UV protective kind and/or one that wicks sweat away so you're comfortable. Light colors are better at reflecting the sun. Not a bad idea to bring a change of clothes (or purchase clothing here) to keep dry and comfy.

  • Get here early. That's the best time to grab a spot underneath our giant shade tent. We don't allow umbrellas on the field, so finding a spot to set up in the shade could do you a world of good. And it's first-come, first-serve. So beat the rush!

  • Pace yourself. If you drink alcohol (beer and wine garden only, 21+), supplement with water to stay hydrated. If you dance, take time to sit, too. Check out the Chill Tent for chill music and lots of shade. Relax in Vendor Village and the Spectrum Designs Food Court, but don't overeat—heat can play with your digestion.

  • Bug repellent. Hot days lead to hot nights. As the sun starts going down, give your legs and feet a spritz, and make any bugs more attracted to someone else.

  • Help us to help you. If you or anyone in your party feels faint or unwell, flag down one of our staff, and we'll get you medical help right away.

It's going to be a great day. These tips can help it stay that way.
