In the event that the Village of Pleasantville calls for an emergency evacuation of Parkway Field due to severe weather, please follow these procedures.
URGENT: In an electrical storm, do not attempt to take shelter under a tent (even the larger on-field tents). The tent's metal frame makes it an extremely dangerous place to be in a thunderstorm.
YOU SHOULD:
- Grab any easily carried personal items and exit the field immediately. Lawn chairs, tents and coolers should stay on the field.
- Find shelter nearby. Options for shelter include:
- A nearby vehicle
- Stores, restaurants and bars in the Village's downtown area.
- The shuttle busses to return to your car at Pace University.
- There may be several parked school buses on the south side of the field (over the small bridge) by Village Lane.
- You'll be advised in advance if the buses are in place. Do not attempt to bring furniture, tents, or coolers on to the parked bus with you. Space is limited.
- If you have a tent in Tent City, you will be advised to either put it at its 'lowest to the ground' setting or in the case of high winds, you will need to completely take it down and fold it up. DO NOT TRY TO SHELTER UNDER IT.
- If you require assistance in getting off the field, please find a member of the Festival Security team or a Police Officer who will help you.
- Once the danger passes, an 'All-Clear' will be announced with megaphones, as well as on the Festival's website and Social Media, stating that it's safe to return. Keep your wristbands on for re-entry.
Note: The Festival's Security team and the Pleasantville Police Department will remain by the field throughout the weather emergency.
